The Tadoussac area is located at the mouth of the Saguenay River, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. This area was the first North American member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club. It is an ideal place for visitors to observe whales and other sea birds and mammals. The Centre d’interprétation des mammifères marins will give you more information about these impressive animals.
Tadoussac was also one of the first villages to be erected at the beginning of the colony. The city is in fact four hundred years old! The Tadoussac area is gently rocked by the waters of the St. Lawrence and the Saguenay Rivers; it is illuminated by the beautiful sunsets and adorned with soft wooded hills. In addition to being an area favourable to various outdoor sports, Tadoussac welcomes many festivals, to which visitors participate each year.
For history lovers, the Chauvin trading post tell you about Tadoussac’s history, while the Centre d’interprétation Archéo Topo invites you to discover the artefacts discovered in the area. Come celebrate with the hundreds of visitors from everywhere in the world year round to enjoy what the area of Tadoussac has to offer.
