Phare de Pointe-des-Monts

Open from mid-June to mid-September

A Beacon for Sailors

This lighthouse was built in 1830 and was used by eight guardians and their families. It is now classified historical monument and is among the oldest lighthouses in America. Inside, you can visit an exhibition about the work of these guardians, their life in the lighthouse as well as an exhibition about navigation on the St. Lawrence River. You will also see the numerous shipwrecks that took place here in the Pointe-des-Monts area. From the top of the tower, you will have a breathtaking view on the region.
