
For centuries, the Innus, formerly known as the Montagnais, are an important Amerindian community in Quebec. Essipit (which means “the shells river”) is a small community of about 200 inhabitants. You can stay in cabins or high-class condos, or put up your equipment at the campground. Among the activities and attractions you can do here, you will find Innu arts and crafts, a Pow-Wow, hiking trails, whale-watching excursions, animation, traditional meals and outfitters.
