The banc de Portneuf is 4.5-kilometre-long sand beach shaped in a long shore by the action of the waves. This ecosystem is the ideal refuge for numerous sea birds and ducks. A marsh is also part of the ecosystems of the area, thus helping beautiful plants to grow. Even the Quebec emblem grows here: the Larger Blue-Flag, in addition to a dozen other species. Since marshes attract a large quantity of waterbirds, bird watchers will have fun observing the great blue heron, the stint and the black-bellied plover. Don't forget your binoculars!
