It’s in this village that you will find the Centre national des naufrages du Saint-Laurent. In Anse-aux-bouleaux, only a few kilometres away, lies the site where an actual shipwreck took place. You can go fishing and see the migratory passing of the salmons. You can watch the documentary “Mayday”, which tells the story of the English admirals Phips and Walker whipwrecks, respectively in 1690 and 1711, as well as the terrible odyssey of “La Renommée”, which ran aground on Île d’Anticosti in 1735. You can then visit the wreck site of the “Elizabeth and Mary” ship and see the rock on which the sailors engraved messages.
The Anse de sable and the anse Hunter also promise you other discoveries just as fascinating. Finally, make a detour by the beach and watch the crab fishermen bring home their takes at the municipal quay.
